Marriage patternsvary in accordance with social, economic and cultural conditions of any society. This study was conducted to investigate the pattern of youth marriage in Tehran. This research analyzed the pattern of youth marriage in Tehran with a qualitative method of grounded theory. 28 participants were selected by targeted sampling and the data were collected by semi-structured interviews. The views of the participant on marriage and factors such as, family role, relatives, ceremonies and traditions, premarital acquaintance, appropriate age, method of choosing a spouse and their strategy were the focus of the questions. After three stages of open, central and selective coding of textual data, 138 conceptswere obtained 28 sub-categories and 13 categories and the main theme is "individualization". Late marriage, matchmaking between the individual and the arbitrator's family, reductionist traditionalism especially in boys, desire for friendship with the opposite sex, sexual facilitation, tendency to informal marriage sometimes (temporary marriage, cohabitation) are seen as strategies. welfare and living facilities, attitude, value and action relations between the two sexes are the main elements of the formation of this MODEL. Reproduction of Iranian culture in the promotion of easy marriage, education and skills training, and economic support are suggested as solutions.
